I was always worried about perfectly round holes in the ground and falling into them. Looney Tunes really over-represented how common they were.

  • Currently I have a 1060GTX 6GB (Evga I think?). It struggled to run Elden Ring but was tolerable for me on medium settings - still it frequently drops from 60fps to 40fps or so, rarely able to stay at an even 60. Can you suggest a modest upgrade compatible with my build? I'm not obsessed with getting max settings, but something that will work decently for 5 years or so would be nice. I don't have an exact budget in mind, but the *absolute maximum* I would consider is $400 Canadian (approx $300 USD). Prefer to save some money for performance and keep it around $200-$300 CDN, if possible Here's my parts list started in 2016 - GPU listed is not the current 1060 https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/user/eezeebee/saved/#view=ntbqqs

  • How does the song "Strawberry Fields Forever" by The Beatles make you feel?
  • eezeebee eezeebee 4d ago 100%

Honestly, annoyed. It feels like they're trying too hard to do... something? So much start and stop, random instruments coming and going. Drums in the left ear!

I like a lot of Beatles' music, but this era is not for me. Rubber Soul and Help hit the spot. I prefer Pink Floyd's take on psychedelic or whatever it's meant to be.

Edit: to better describe the feeling, it makes me feel like being forced on a roadtrip or vacation with parents. Too young to understand or care about the destination, knowing there are an unlimited number of other destinations I'd rather be.

It's been a long time since I gave Sony money, but if they did release Bloodborne on PC I would buy it on day one. It seems like emulation will be a reality before that.

How does the home zone work?

For me location service eats my battery up - can't last a full day with it on.

    Never said they were lol

At home I want wifi on, and away I want it off. This saves battery so it's not constantly looking for wifi networks.

I could achieve similar with location service turned on all the time, but that drains battery even more.

Since cellular data is always connected to some cell tower nearby, and Tasker is able to identify the cell tower names, I used the ones near my home as flags to indicate "I'm close to home, therefore turn on WiFi because I'll be home soon". And turn it off when I leave my neighborhood.

I feel the same way about Steam. My discovery queue is useless. Similar games section is decent, but it tends to be the same few games I'm already aware of. Just randomly browsing has been the best way to find new things.

    Bleak Sword DX

I got stuck on a tough boss for a while, so I replayed some earlier levels to level up my character. We're back in business. It didn't even feel like a grind since each area/battle is short and gameplay feels great. Maybe 15 minutes to get the 2 level ups I needed. I'm enjoying the steady increase in difficulty and how new enemies are introduced. The game does a good job of making you assess the situation and use the techniques available to overcome it. There's even some fire/environmental hazards that can be used to your advantage.

    Fae Tactics

Also got stuck on a (boss?) fight, so I took some time to rearrange my party and spells to get some better elemental synergy and buffs and it worked! Definitely feels rewarding and, well, tactful.

  • It started about a week ago. I noticed a sticky feeling on my hands so I washed them (as I do regularly). Unfortunately it wasn't long before the feeling came back. I've started noticing it on everything I frequently touch - mouse/keyboard, Xbox controller, phone, on and on. I tried household cleaner, rubbing alcohol, water/soap on these surfaces and it seems to help for a short while, but it comes back within hours. Just now I gave my phone a good wipe with soapy water and as soon as it dried it feels sticky again. I'm not sure what else to try or how to get rid of it. Possible culprits I can guess at: -pollen? the cars around here have been covered in greenish yellow powder which I have seen before, but never experienced this stickyness. I don't use my car / touch the door handles very often. -some sort of plastic or rubber is degrading, maybe my phone case? It's an Otterbox that's over 6 years old. -a little weed container I bought around the same time this started, maybe the store had vape juice spilled on it? But I don't touch it often enough to warrant the spread of this profound stickyness. Any ideas are welcome. It's driving me nuts.

The developer is talented but lacks the confidence to complete their work. Out of desperation they resort to the 'easy way out' and develop demos to scam supporters with no intention of shipping a finished game. Can one supporter whose belief in them/blackmail be enough to change their ways and finish what will undoubtedly be a smash hit?

My Linux Mint Cinnamon won't boot up. It's getting stuck on this screen and I don't know what to do to proceed. Before this screen appears it shows the LM logo for a moment. I'm a total noob and just been using this for a month or two. Did not make any recent changes that I can recall.

I always wanted to try this game when I was a kid. When checking out reviews on Steam I noticed someone mention that Sega was giving it away for free for their 60th anniversary (a few years ago), and that website is still up and running. Long story short, I tried it and it works. Replacing the localhost part of the URL was necessary as the screenshot mentions. ![](https://lemm.ee/api/v3/image_proxy?url=https%3A%2F%2Flemmy.ca%2Fpictrs%2Fimage%2F87f8da84-f424-4427-a74a-88df63b7e9dc.png)
