We've gotten over 100 sign-ups since launch, which is a massively good start, especially considering that everyone in the lemmyverse can subscribe to our communities and participate. Now we need to keep the ball rolling to gain more and more momentum. Here's some ideas: 1. Your yiffit account gives you access to countless local and remote communities. 2. Post your favorite artwork, SFW or NSFW (remember to give attribution) 3. Create a new thread about your favorite food, hobbies or projects! Sharing art is only half what this instance has to offer. 4. Create your own "subyiffit" / community and moderate it as you see fit. Carve out your own space. 5. **Help us come up with a name for our yeen mascot.** 6. Post here from any Mastodon account by simply mentioning it's name. For example @furry@pawb.social or @chat@yiffit.net 7. Tell your friends! Corporations like reddit are counting on our inaction to keep control, but we have a golden opportunity to create queer, authentic furry platforms, run by furries, for furries. Let's go!
I've never had a work of fiction affect me so and I don't know what to do other than talk about it. I keep making myself cry wishing it all was real and I was there on Adastra or Khemia with Amicus and Neferu. I've certainly felt a fondness for characters and wanted to be transported to fictional worlds before but... Not like this. Not this badly. And it's not even the *visuals* that drew me to any of the characters; I've seen their images a lot before ever playing the game and didn't have the same pull toward them as I do now, knowing their personalities. This is so fucked up and stupid and I feel dumb for even admitting how it's making me feel, but I just have to because otherwise I'm going to overflow. 😖
The game's called Cavern of Dreams! I really like dragons, but I tend not to enjoy most games that they appear in because the games are either too grimdark (Dark Souls), make dragons too rare/emphasises killing them (BG3), or doesn't give us intelligent dragons. Anyways, this little game isn't super serious or difficult or anything, but I absolutely loved it so I wanted to share it here! Usually I like to just remember the names of the artists, or use Re621 to follow my favorite artists, but every (fucking) time I enter e621 I find a thousand new artists and I can't stop scrolling, it's an endless cycle: I find an interesting image, I enter the artist's page, I spend a while checking their profile and seeing the images I like, repeat. I don't consider it unhealthy because I don't really do it very often, BUT EVERY TIME I do it I can last a couple of hours in this endless cycle.

If your willing to share how would you describe your internal demons. I think most people probably have some. Some have more control than others. My two biggest are a petrifying fear of change, and one I don't know how to articulate well, a petrifying fear of interaction would probably be the best short description. Change/future: when I left my old job, I had a new one already. Everyone already knew I was leaving. Actually, officially, putting in my 2 weeks notice took me almost a full workday to work up the courage to submit, and I'd already told my boss weeks earlier. I don't like my job now, have a few other things I could consider and the financial means to do it, but I am terrified of following through on any of it. What if I don't like it... What if.. what if... what if... I don't like what I do now, but I am comfortable doing it. I work from home and have wanted to move for over 5 years. I know some of this could be risk aversion, but it seems excessive and irrational at times. Interactions: Even before submitting my first post here, filling out the form with why I wanted to join was hard for me to do; submitting my first post was terrifying. Even now I have a little worry every time. Its getting better with time, and I do what I can to fight it, but its always there. It took me 10 years before I clicked the watch button on an artist's page. I've never been "normal" and I guess I had some fear of being "found out" or shame? dunno. I was afraid someone I might know would be there. I don't know why, that's why they're demons. I recently joined a few discord servers, I feel like an imposter, that I don't belong, that nobody wants to hear what I have to say, or I'm being in the way. I don't know if its just some social anxiety, or something deeper.
The functions that I really need the most is to press shift to zoom the images without entering them, infinite scroll and “subscriptions” and I have been researching scrips but I have not been able to find any that perform similar functions.
Who are some celebrities, youtubers, or other notable people who you think or know are probably furries even if they don't explicitly acknowledge it. I'll propose John Oliver, I would say Mr. Regular too, but he has publicly acknowledged it for a while now.

Pawb.social is well on it's way to making an icon in the bottom left, anybody got some ideas for what we could do? Maybe a pixel version of our yeen, or something more suggestive?

I do what I can, but it feels like there is only ~10 people here and shouting into the void isn't that enjoyable. pawb.social is a little better, but I don't know how much their new members know about us, and I don't know how much those here know about their newer communities. With as small as the community is here, do you notice when users who do post stop posting?
A few months ago I created Pokeyiff but for reasons beyond my power I had to abandon it and close it to prevent any situation that could occur in my absence, but I'm back and I would like to create Pokeyiff again or go back to the original Pokeyiff (yes, it seems to me that the instance admin can do that, and yes, I already asked him), but unless someone can help me to manage it, I sincerely prefer not to go ahead with my plan to open the community again. If you are interested in helping me to manage the community I would be very grateful, so we can help Yiffit together :3
So this is something I've been thinking about a bit recently, and I'd be interested in hearing people's thoughts on the matter. Lets suppose you meet someone, and chat socially with them. Maybe a work colleague, maybe a friend met through a friend. You aren't that close with them, but you get the vibe that they aren't a bigot or judgemental at the very least. If the conversation turned to furry stuff, would you tell them that you like furry art? Do you keep a different set of non-furry socials for your irl friends and family? What about having a furry profile pic on your work slack? Or your Github? Do you try hard to make sure that nobody will be able to find your secret furry double life if they know you IRL? I guess, in essence, I'm wondering if you draw a hard line between your "sfw furry life" and your "IRL life".
If I have a character and want something with them, I think I know what to do, I have lots of artists I watch that do just that. But what if I want logos and icons? Basically I want a logo, icon, and mascot for the site I'm making, but don't know where to start in finding an artist to commission for them.

It wasn't my first choice, but its not bad. So any ideas, features, etc.. are welcome, as is anybody that wants to help with it or advice for making it. I'm not quite ready to give out the name publicly yet, but if anybody is curious I'll message you.
and I will not be going. Its the time of year for the local convention. I've though about going a few times, but I probably wouldn't talk to anyone, or go to anything, so I don't see the point.

Once upon a time, there seemed like there were quite a few users who would post to yiffit and at least some amount of general activity. These days it seems like there are only a few posters. So what happened to everyone?
It often works, but sometimes fails in very quiet ways. https://pawb.social/post/8422352 and https://yiffit.net/post/8267386 are the same mealtime video post (Technology connections kettle), but very different comment counts. I usually see it as posts or communities that just stop showing up even though nothing changes. The other day I played with the stories community here from a remote community, but nothing showed up until I made a comment on a post that didn't show up initially. yea federation can be weird sometimes.
Just one? One on many instance? Multiple on one instance? Biggest reasons?
The app I use for lemmy, Voyager, is dropping support for lemmy 0.18 in a few days due to authentication changes in 0.19. Any news on upgrading yiffit?
I was about to change my profile picture and I got that error, I assumed it was an occasional problem because my PC has a lot of space available so I tried to upload an image and I couldn't either because of the same error code. I tried to upload an image on another instance (to that same instance) and didn't get any errors so it's not my PC. I suppose it's possible that I could upload an image to a Yiffit community from another instance but I'm not sure if it will be reflected on Yiffit. Is anyone else having this problem? I don't mean to be annoying, but it's been some time since I submitted my registration request, and I still haven't received an update on it, so I don't know if it will ever be accepted.
I need a project to occupy my time and improve some skills. I can write a RISC-V core, and maybe use the building of as a teaching aid for VHDL. The ideal result would be highly configurable core, similar to Micorblaze/NIOS My other option is write a website. It would be a mix of FA, Patreon, artconomy, microblog, and maybe some others mixed in. The best analog would probably be itaku, but open source. I know python and have been playing with flask.
Every time I open e621 I spend between 30 minutes to 2 hours every day (or sometimes more than once a day) and it's because every time I open it there are ALOT of new posts and artists that I didn't even know existed and I look at all their posts and repeat. I'm not asking for help and I can control this, but it's like what the Youtube algorithm is for some people who spend a lot of time just scrolling without watching any videos. Honestly, it's impressive the quality that's in e621. Does this happen to you?
It seems a person, [Mark Merlino](https://en.wikifur.com/wiki/Mark_Merlino), involved in getting the first conventions going passed away the other day. So it made me think, was the emergence inevitable.
Personally I'm sure that if e621 had some kind of 'following' functionality I would probably follow hundreds of artists but as far as I know e621 doesn't provide this kind of functionality, so how I usually keep up with my favorite artists' posts it's just manually searching by their name but just as I said, I easily know more than a hundred artists and usually going one by one is pretty tiring, besides, how am I supposed to know the name of each artist? I barely know by heart the name of the ones I usually look for, but there are many others that I just favorite a post I like and forget about them, because I forget their name and I have many favorites...
Are newspapers really generating just-in-time AI generated articles based on random search engine searches? I searched DDG for "derpibooru top artists" and this was like the 4th search result.
Everyday things would be different. You have to account for tails everywhere. Bandaids wouldn't work with fur. Would shirts be worn, or would natural fur coats be all that is there? Food workers would have full body nets. Claw tips come out of a different area and would make some tasks that use fingertips difficult (typing)...
