We're all Pokemon fans, and one year for I think Halloween, when we got tired of dressing up as Team Rocket and going door to door reciting the Team Rocket motto for candy each year (because we couldn't agree on the best arrangement, and to be fair, I needed a break from being Wobbuffet), we dressed up as a female Team Magma grunt (one of my best friends), a male Team Aqua grunt (the other best friend), a female Team Snagem grunt (me), and I think a male Cipher grunt (my BF). As a joke, all of us except my BF (Cipher grunts canonically didn't exist for raiding) pretended to raid each other's candy and recruit people to our team, but everyone including onlookers got carried away and we ignited something. Whoopsadoodle.

Well I was in the two "ask" communities, but then a person in charge, who many are concerned about in regards to motivations, made sure I got both the boot (the "normal" part of the punishment) as well as a taste of unprovoked exposure (wut?)

One thing comes to mind, but it's not really liked/understood.
Social incentive is just as much a thing as economic incentive.

No, but oddly the reverse is the case, where it's illegal to feed the homeless. They're afraid of poisonings.

No, but I have a neighbor (who is otherwise a recluse) who has been noticed mowing his lawn at three in the morning, also while not wearing anything.

I like to think this is their way of confirming the two universes are canon and that the characters are subconsciously aware.

The ending to Castle. A series that went on for eight seasons, where they were given several warnings about how the actors (who didn't get along) might quit and challenge production, and then it happens, and instead of preparing a proper ending or deciding to recast Beckett, they had the characters win against the mafia, then randomly die because the writers are absolutely obsessed with cliffhangers, then randomly be brought back to life, then randomly turn it into a Wizard of Oz type of ending with kids we've never seen before, all because they stalled writing an ending until the very last moment. As much as people blame Stana Katic for leaving and throwing a wrench into things, you can't say the writers didn't have some kind of hand in how things turned out. Every possible thing that could've fixed the show was voluntarily ignored.

We live in a world where we think of marriage as defined by what the paperwork says, but true marriage comes from the heart.
My best friends are the reverse of this, they are inseparable and have a family they help but decided not to seal the deal bureaucratically or even spiritually. They say a part of it was being tired of being judged based on association and knowing nobody could do that if nobody connected them.

If you having trouble knowing what to say in a conversation is what you're getting at, I can relate to that. Once in a while I'll have found a stranger whose standards I can meet, but they're so few and far between that no tangible friendships have been made.

Been in a kind of rut to be honest. I love Autumn, but the times know how to make you think of certain ongoing social issues with more emphasis.

I mean the way you explained it does make sense for them to do, for example if I had a certain medical condition, I might see someone describe it in terms I'd describe and say "it sounds like you might have MS", but the confusing side/aspect of it, to me, comes from exchanges where someone is, for example, accusing another person of being an art thief, and that person responds "stop projecting, you're the art thief" (or, alternatively, the act of projecting is hard to think of a lead-up for). And it happens often enough I scratch my head at how it's seen as having gravity.
I've seen/heard it described as "psychologically caused", but I've never been in a situation where I've felt gravitation towards doing it, or, strictly speaking (which I say that way because it might boil down to coincidence when I describe others doing it, so I'm saying it relatively loosely in those instances), suspected it. It reminds me of how long it took me to understand sarcasm, which I still take literally, since "I didn't know you were being sarcastic" when they were is easier to fathom as a plea for forgiveness than "I thought you were being sarcastic" in response to someone being sarcastic.

That's the other confusing part to me. I might be of a scrutinizing nature, but the part of me that is able to put myself in others' shoes cannot imagine for the life of me the act of projection as a psychological urge. As I think of that, one of two thoughts either come to mind, that either this is another instance of the phenomenon of Stockholme Syndrome (which only pop psychologists are saying is that common) or it's one of those obscure neurodivergent phenomena (not saying that as a form of judgment, just that maybe, I think, their inner workings work differently enough for it to be a thing).
Coming from someone who values her tactical side, dare I say projection seems maladaptive if I'm underestimating its social value, like it's another instance of how sarcasm took centuries to become normalized as an oral literary device.

Why is it seen so often in discussions of psychology, which make it out like it's that kind of phenomenon?

So I'm fairly social for someone like me and have done my fair share of talking to people as well as toward people, some talks being more passionate than others, so I guess having my odds of this reduced is a factor here when I say occasionally "projecting" will be brought up during a conversation. One should "stop projecting" they might say. It's always in an accusatory kind of context, with being described a certain way by someone else often being connected to the latter person fitting what they're thinking of. Is this... a meme for a lack of a better word? Where does this conceivably come from? Seeing such a thing all the time, I can't fathom the mindset, it seems so faulty my mind groups it in [with grievance misapplication](https://lemm.ee/post/44924839). Why *would* someone play hot potato with things even deemed to be things nobody should be handling like it's second nature? How could someone in control subconsciously see instinct in this? What happened the last time this came up for you, when did it turn out to be the case?

I think they should just number the episodes on the title screen, like Ninjago did. Even with the recaps helping me determine what happened in the previous episode, shows like Avatar often left me in the dark because the recap clips were almost never the parts of the previous episode I remembered.
This seems to be something people don’t always give second thought to. When people talk about the homeless, the first things thought about are images of people on busy city streets in rusty clothes waiting around near allies. In there, the answer is quite static, because it can be I guess. But if that’s the case, change the setting and that changes too. In the places where I’ve lived, people often needed that mapped out. Where are they known in your rural locales?
To those from the Western hemisphere, it’s always fascinating to hear that some homes and businesses from the times of the Greek philosophers still have inhabitants, and then you remember that the Western hemisphere is itself not without its own examples, for example some Mexican villages still have temples from the times of the Mayans.
There are some exotic foods we tend to take for granted exist. Almost every city for example has a Chinese restaurant, a Mexican restaurant, and maybe an Outback Steakhouse. But this isn't universal for some reason. Someone asked me if I wanted to go to an Egyptian restaurant and I was like "wait, they have restaurants?" A question for all those who would say they consider themselves ethnically fluent. What are all the cultural categories of food you've had?
This refers to when two or more people encounter each other in completely coincidental fashion. You might notice your old classmate from three countries away is now your waiter in a place you had no reason to expect them in, and you might say "wow, what a small world". You might notice two people who you know from completely different spheres miraculously know each other. You might recognize by chance that your penpal has made a cameo at a venue you're at. But what was your most profoundly coincidental encounter?
Unless on usurped or deceptive pretenses, I do not encourage the act of circumventing bans, and other people in charge would say the same. That said, if someone gives off the vibes that they're in the business of it, it cannot be enforced as if it were an exact science. It can only be dissuaded based on certain definitive details. We kindly ask if you may give the benefit of the doubt, and if people (not us) have the authority to do so, they will act. Let people higher up take care of these matters. Do not harass people or vent at them over such matters, and report people cautiously, not based on whims. [Or as a list of rules once said...](https://www.deviantart.com/triagonal/art/The-Ten-E-Cepts-written-based-on-one-s-experience-899257268) "Remember the human" is as good a rule here as anywhere. Thanking all for their patience.
I might as well ask this since I got stung or bit by a bee yesterday during America day. Last year, when taking strolls, it was rare enough for a bee to swarm around me that I could go whole strolls without it happening sometimes. This year, they swarm around me everywhere. Everywhere. It's like fighting your way [through putty patrollers](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FzwlQsGvadI). They respawn instantly, there's absolutely no lag. Shoo one away and one comes back five seconds later. Sometimes for three hour strolls encompassing six miles. What the heck happened? Anyone else notice this?
