You know, your right. At first I was thinking that blaming Trump voters is like blaming stupid people for being stupid. But then I thought at least the trump voters have a shot at getting Trump elected. The 3rd party voters don't have a shot at getting their candidates elected. So 3rd party voters are even dumber than Trump voters. So you really are just too dumb to blame.

Also because big business owns all the media and everyone can lie without consequences. Democracy can't survive in these conditions.

Hmm, is this post from a Russian bot or someone who is both sideding to sound smart even if it is a bad take?

Upset Russian bot says what?

Yup, you're right. Better give the most powerful county in the world a fascist president. That will fix things. Biden has been naughty and must be spanked at any cost.

I've been married for 7 years. I do ask my wife how her day was, but that is because I actually care. How can people do this with strangers? Is it just assumed everyone is asking everyone else how their day was even if they don't actually care?

I wish I knew why small talk is important and why the example in the post is a problem. It would be helpful if someone could explain it.

Yup! Until that gets organized, best to keep the damage to a minimum.

Between 99% Hitler and 100% Hitler you want to vote for 99% Hitler. Because 100% Hitler would be 1% more Hitler than 99% Hitler. The goal is to minimize the Hitler.
I don't know how I feel about the name, but I think it is good that they moved away from minetest.

The difference between the Dems and republicans is one pretends to represent everyone equally, the other does not. Both need to make their capitalist masters happy.
That being said. Dems are doing harm less quickly than the republicans are, so vote for them.

Politics are dumb but very important.

What the heck does that mean? You do your best, every step of the way. If you don't have a democracy, do a revolution. If the people don't know how badly they're getting screwed, educate them. Being doomer is not useful. Keep trying to improve the situation.

If the USA had better laws, the news media would not be free from getting sued or fined for spreading lies. If the USA has a stronger democracy, where we didn't have to deal with this elector nonsense, then we'd have federal laws that prevent fascists from getting into power.
We don't/didn't have that, so now we get to hope that the fascists don't win.
The only way we get out of this is by charging some of these fascists with treason and putting them in jail.
I'm curious what your take is on using governmental violence against fascists? For example, throwing them in jail.

Everybody has different ears and their brains process sound differently. What might not seem very bad and chill to you can be extremely disturbing to somebody else and vice versa. It's no one's fault, life just sucks sometimes. Be considerate within reason.

Because the average person doesn't have any real time to think deeply about politics. They believe whatever big media tells them. Some also can't understand how evil someone people can get.
"Surely the basic logic of how things work must be very consistent in order to have such a large and prosperous country like the USA. I don't understand it. Probably because I'm missing something not because it's fundamentally flawed"
Fun! Literal sandbox game!
It's been a while since I have played it, but when I did it was fun. It's hard to get a big enough group of friends to play.
Blast your enemies and your friends!
Looks interesting. I haven't tried it. Looks like you need to own a copy of the original game. I am sure you could probably find it on GOG.
Also, Could the process be used to cool the gas if the Controlled Valve was replaced with a pump and swap the direction of the one way valve? The steps would be the reverse of State 3. Then pump the gas from the right to the left. Is that correct? Also, does this thing I have "created" have a name?
Looking for a good roguelike? Give this one a try!
Or planning to play? For me, I am looking forward to some SS14 this weekend. https://spacestation14.com/
Looking at their GitHub, it appears to be open source, but I don't see it advertised anywhere. https://github.com/Inq8/CAmod
If you haven't played it, it is a fun Real Time Strategy game!
No updates, just a really good remake of Transport Tycoon
If you haven't played a space station game before, it's a fun time. Try one of the Wizard's Den servers if you are new.
I am enjoying the game, except one thing in the story that keeps coming up and causes me cognitive dissonance. I am in the first system and it isn't clear to me why we are not considered Pirates. The characters are always saying stuff like "Don't be a Pirate" or "Kill all the Pirates". And then we do stuff like steal from factions/corporations that are neutral to us. Why doesn't that cause us to be Pirates? We literally accidentally kidnapped someone. I am so confused.
So, I have come to the conclusion that the word "want" in my brain has two closely related meanings. 1. Something I want right now for the dopamine. Ex Ice Cream. 2. Something that I want for my self long term. Ex to be healthy. It is hard enough to organize my thoughts normally, but when I have competing wants like Ice Cream, vs to be healthy. It really sucks to have the same word for both. Does anyone else feel this way? Is there other words that you use to help separated these ideas in your head?
