Well why would you do something stupid like make healthy food more accessible when you can line the pockets of pharmaceutical companies AND stab poor people.

Can't take it home, but I'm currently testing out the 3D printers at my local. They also have a 3D scanner.

Mostly I feel angry on their behalf. Individual responsibility is a myth, and they're victims of capitalism too. Food decisions aren't just based on money. Cooking requires time, effort and skills that are fading from society as a whole, mostly due to people being tied up in generating revenue for someone else. There's the education angle, whereby people may not be actively aware what they're eating is slop; industry is constantly trying to dilute labelling laws and advertising regulations to enable this. There's also the issue of availability outside of financial circumstances; food deserts and food swamps. Then there's shelf life; hyper-optimised "just in time" supply chains have fresh fruit and veg hitting the shelf at peak ripeness, and keep it under misting sprays (that actively reduce shelf life) so it looks great and sells fast, but doesn't last more than a day or two in the fridge at home. Why would you buy a lettuce that'll be dead in two days when a microwave meal lasts functionally forever.
There's also psychosocial modelling aspects that are both leveraged and molded by marketing to make it seem "normal" and "acceptable". There's habits, which are again molded by marketing, especially to children. This also ties into the comfort factor via nostalgia. I'm sure most people have a favourite garbage food from childhood. It's probably not just one of the above factors, but it's definitely not as simple as "get money, eat better" -- the entire food system is basically aligned to make sure people eat as much slop as possible. It takes a disproportionate amount of time, energy and know-how to circumvent that as an individual.

If you still have or can get hold of one, there's a community project to keep them running. Much easier on Android than iOS.
There are also a fair few repair and workaround guides for common hardware faults.

I grew up in the '80s. I was expecting either nuclear annihilation or cities on the moon.

Is it just me, or does that second comment read like an LLM? Maybe I'm just paranoid but something about it feels off. Too formal, maybe?

I suspect so. I remember getting a free trial from CompuServe when it eventually made it to Australia so I wouldn't be surprised if AOL did too.

It's the fourth game in the X series. Originally named after the player's ship in the first game, the X-Shuttle. X being short for experimental.
Regarding "Foundations", from the Release Q&A
Why is the game called X4: Foundations?
Owen: I think some people get confused because of the two different uses of the word foundations. I think some people maybe think foundation like a corporation or a charity, while we're more thinking of the building foundation. Something we build off and what the races in the universe are building off. They're still recovering from all the gates shut down and they're finally getting on their feet.
Bernd: It's funny, how we choose names. It was not not long before the presentation actually that we had a long list of possible names and some people like some, but there was no name that everybody liked. Once that we found this name, everybody seemed to like it. Partially for different reasons. But what I like about the names for X-games is always that they leave some things to interpretation just like the X itself. If the game stands for anything, then it stands for the freedom and that the game can be different things for different people.

Mustard isn't a super common allergen AFAIK, but I have heard of it. I'm a little surprised they bother to mention celery, but people can be allergic to anything.

It makes no difference. With Mondays off, Tuesday becomes the new Monday. Fridays off means Thursday starts feeling like Friday.

When I used to do this, there was usually some kind of manufacturer code under one of the cardboard flaps in the top of the pack, usually a letter and a number. Superstition was that it corresponded to the row and column of the lucky smoke so you'd flip that one. No idea if that's still a thing.

Even if it isn't changing IP, you still want it in your DHCP table so that IP doesn't accidentally get assigned to something else. It's unlikely on a small network but it can happen.

I volunteered with them for a while about ten years ago. Still remember the Iraqui guy thanking us with tears in his eyes because he got to see his daughter for the first time on a webcam setup we did for him. They're good folks, I'm glad they're still around.

Unlikely. Reason being manufacturers don't want to have to account for whatever janky ni-cad or lithium battery the consumer jams in there, or having to tell the difference between the two because they need to be charged differently. Closest you'll probably get is a mouse that takes AAs and a couple of these or similar. Just leave one in a spare port until you need to change over.
Amazon link for demonstration purposes only, not an endorsement. Also can't vouch for that brand.

Oh now you're asking the wrong person. That'd be a bit after my time.
I'm pretty deadset on switching my Legion Go over to Bazzite (for the controller support). One of the games I play a lot of is Elite Dangerous. While I'm quite sure I can get that up and running, there's a few third-party tools I use like EDMC and Voice Attack. EDMC and the like I'm fairly sure just need to get pointed to the logfiles, but I'm not sure how well VA will operate in a Linux environment. Anyone out there dealt with anything like this? It's not a deal breaker if it just doesn't work, but I'd like to know ahead of time.
Normally I'd go to r/mousereview for this kind of thing, but fuck that website. Can anybody recommend me a mouse that isn't going to fuck out inside of a couple years? Was previously using an Ironclaw until the USB port went, replaced it with a Basilisk and the scroll on that one's started to jitter up and down now. I have fairly large hands and tend to use knuckle claw grip. Wireless is a must, builtin battery preferred, but requiring a single AA isn't a dealbreaker. I don't mind heavy, prefer a little weight tbh.
But the guy behind it is a god-tier troll, and Cory Doctorow generally doesn't suck IMO. Enjoy.
