If approved, Measure 118 would institute a 3% tax on most corporations’ total sales in Oregon above $25 million and distribute the money equally among residents of all ages and incomes. The system would go into effect next year.
For those who don't know, Revolt is an open-source alternative to Discord, basically what Lemmy is to Reddit. It's still a bit rough around the edges, but is very accepting of feedback and emphasizes community input. One of the biggest draws is that a lot of the Discord Nitro perks (such as making custom emojis) are free there.

No other candidates filed for any other party, so Linthicum is the de-facto winner of the position. Mrs. Linthicum has no real world qualifications to be Senator beyond being the husband of the current disgraced Senator, and has all but openly said she is only running to be the mouth of her husband as to bypass the election restrictions.

Yes, THAT Tillamook. Tiny town with more cows than people and most people who live there are old and crotchety. When you call the water company in the rural areas around town, a lady just answers, “Hello,” in a cranky voice that sounds like she was doing something way more important when you called her. She hand writes your bill on paper note cards and they don’t accept anything but checks as payment. Anyway, a couple weeks ago I call and tell her that I need to disconnect the water or put it in the new person’s name. Her: “It’ll be easier to just put it in the new person’s name. Do you know it?” Me: [name that sounds like maaaaaaybe it could Asian, but not really] Her: [name]? Are they Chinese? Me: I don’t know, but they’re moving over from Hawaii. So I kinda doubt it. Her: Well, good. Cause you know all them Chinese around here are all a bunch of drug dealers. Me: Uhhhhhh. Her: Alright, I got it down. You’ll get one more bill. [click] I sat there for a minute with my phone in my had, wondering what the fuck I had just heard.
