Sarkaria added that he frequently hears from drivers who say their commute times have increased on routes with bike lanes.

Time to call the constituency office for Brampton South and the Ministry office to counter the driver's calls.

Brampton South constituency office is: 905-796-8669

For all Ontarians (or people who sometimes travel in Ontario) the ministry office is: 416-327-9200

I really love that resource trunk line.

I might have to borrow it. Maybe try running the resource lines flat with some foundations, than building the pillars underneath afterwards to keep the trunk at the same level.

Canadians have never voted a government in in my lifetime, we just vote the last government out.

On the upside, municipal politics is where you are likely to see the most impact to your daily life, and those guys aren't in parties outside major cities, and even the major city parties don't aligin with the normal 2.5 flavours of prov/fed politics.

Do they want to get to places on those cars, or do they want to get to places and cars are the only (or only practical) way?

    How e-bikes reduce vehicular traffic

Ontarians, I need your help. This week I was pulled over by the police for having a kid's seat on my e-bike. I was informed this is illegal in Ontario as Sec. 38 of the HTA doesn't allow anyone under the age of 16 to be on a power-assisted or motor assisted bicycle. In 2021 the Moving Ontarians More Safely Act came out that separated power-assisted bicycles (like e-bikes) from motor assisted bicycles (like dirt bikes). This will finally allow child seats on e-bikes. Please call your MPP to get this bill that passed and assented 3 years ago into law. Details on the wording of the current and assented laws: currently the Highway Traffic Act, section 38, states : "No person who is the owner or is in possession or control of a motor assisted bicycle or power-assisted bicycle shall permit a person who is under the age of 16 years to ride on, drive or operate the motor assisted bicycle or power-assisted bicycle on a highwau" the Moving Ontarians More Safely Act, 2021, S.O. 2021, C. 26 - Bill 282 splits this into a few sections: "No person under the age of 14 years shall operate a power-assisted bicycle described in clause (a) of the definition" "No person under the age of 16 years shall operate a power-assisted bicycle described in clause (b) or (c)" and the new section 38.1: "No person under the age of 16 years shall ride on, drive or operate a motor assisted bicycle on a highway" From my perspective this will make e-bikes legal to have kids seats; and separate the class away from gas and electric dirt bikes.

I mean, that's an option too. Bike could pay 1/8th-1/12th the amount cars do based on amount of road used.

Of course, there's the whole problem of cars don't fucking pay for the roads. In Ontario, vehicle registration is a whopping $32. Since the average car lifespan in Canada is around 11 years, Ontario vehicles pay less than $3 per year (less however much of the registration fee is administration and overhead)

Since bikes take up abouth 1/10th the road, they would pay $3 for registration.

So you don't have taxis driving on sidewalks or motorcycles speeding down the wrong side of split avenues and you STILL have about the same road deaths and injuries per pop as Taiwan?

Ikea's HULTARP rods and hooks can let you store things outside of the kitchen too. I came up with this solution to stick long, but flat and lightweight, items on the wall in a bathroom. Edit: note that Ikea has two sizes of HULTRAP hooks, so you might want to get a pack of each while figuring out what works best for your items.
