I mean... fair or not, a lot of it is CIG's own doing. They were the ones who over promised and under delivered time and time again. Add their monetization scheme, scummy marketing and open development (but mostly when it suits them) and suddenly there's A LOT of ammo to criticize them.

Don't take me wrong, there's plenty of bad faith and uninformed discussions and reporting as well but this is not just a case of "poor CIG did nothing wrong and everyone hates them for shits and giggles".

Maybe things will improve as the game gets closer to what it was promised as but until then general public has no reason to give them the benefit of a doubt anymore. CIG made sure of that themselves.

Well, my thoughts were always "I'm here for SC, don't really care about Squadron" and this showcase did nothing to change my mind. Sucks we'll have to wait even longer for PU to become the important part...

Some random notes from my watch:

• Camera work (mostly cuts) is... it looks really rough and kind of random at times. These guys aren't Kojima or Santa Monica Studio, that's for sure.
• Player character not replying or reacting to anything during gameplay segments feels weird, especially so when background/secondary NPC dialog works pretty well.
• NPC camera popping in and out whenever they utter a sound is distracting.
• Why are there still no flak guns on those ships?!
• Turret section looks incredibly dull, don't know if it's the result of the new flight mechanics and tuning or devs decided to script enemy ships this way but this duck gallery ain't it.
• I haven't played since the gun model update came in but boy do those iron sights look comical.
• So... how does open helmet work in space?
• Those Vanduul fights look rough.
• Sneak peek into piloting capital ships?
• At least it looks pretty, I guess.
• Ahh... 2026 - 2 years away, every year.

I didn't mind the cutscene to gameplay ratio since it's the tutorial/prologue sequence, I just wish both parts were better. I hope Wing Commander fans will be happy with the final release, whenever that happens.

Didn't have time to check out the rest of the day yet, hopefully there will be something interesting for me there.

Only one? That's a tough one...

I love dorks and Girls' Frontline has them in spades but I'd rather avoid the most popular characters (too easy) so lets go with SVCh.

It's not my favorite design or unit in the game, heck, she's not even the dorkiest character of the bunch, but something about her pose just makes me smile. I also really like her artist, Nagu, which is a plus.

A'ight, I read through a few chapters and it was pretty fun so far. We'll see how I feel when it gets more serious but I'm hooked.

You piqued my interest. While my situation is a bit different than yours, these feelings sound pretty familiar, though I'm not sure if reading this will make me feel better or worse... Imma just drop it on the backlog pile for now and worry about that later.

I took it as part of the curse, Mary coming to get her so to speak. On the other hand, heh, there's something that looks like a box of crayons/paints on the table so that's a possibility. I'm still leaning towards the first option though (handprints aren't there in the beginning and disappear at the end).

Not space stations specifically, this only happened when I sped up in decoupled and started reading something else on another monitor to kill the time. That said, the distance at which this warning triggers is (or at least used to be, not sure about now) rather inadequate to the speed one tends to travel at. Doubly so when flying at night.

If you don't mind using "gamey" methods you could just make use of the magic slowdown when deploying your landing gear, otherwise it's down to practice and paying attention.

While I'm happy with this outcome, even if it's only temporary, I disagree with calling it "Hungary's push". There are multiple countries supporting this initiative and phrases like this make it easy for them to wash their hands and push the whole responsibility on a country everyone is pissed at anyway.

We shouldn't hide the fact there's a growing interest in limiting human rights among EU countries but rather expose and scrutinize the bad actors instead. I don't think that will stop any future attempts but it could hopefully slow them down.

Still, win is a win and every attempt that fails is a reason to celebrate.

I'm sure there's plenty of folks willing to pick up a priest on such journey. Why does he show up now though? Is Gorilla part of the shadow warriors? That would be a tragic turn of events for a wannabe hero.

Fishing is one of the first things I did after coming back actually. I don't think I touched it before so it was a nice way to use some of the bait I've accumulated until now. Still need to get into housing though, all I have is a basic setup in one of the inn rooms. Thanks for the ideas!

Last week was a bit confusing for me.

First, I finished After the Rain and I don't know why. Don't take me wrong, it's not a bad series - it has a few interesting moments, some really pretty panels and ended in a way I found satisfying enough. It's just... I could not care less about the relationship between MC and her manager, i.e. the main premise of the whole thing. Maybe I really wanted to see if they end up together or not, I don't know. I liked the overall message at least.

Apparently this series has an anime adaptation too! I'm not sure how I never heard about it since it's not that old (released in 2018) but it's supposedly pretty good. Might check it out some day.

Second, I started reading Stravaganza. By mistake. I was planning to check out Claymore but ended up mixing the two for some reason - you can imagine my surprise after seeing all the fan service Stravaganza has to offer.

I kept reading, even after realizing my mistake, and I don't regret this mix up. Haven't finished the whole thing yet (one more volume to go) but what I did read turned out pretty fun and way more serious than expected. The beginning of the second/main (?) arc reminded me of the early Attack on Titan chapters with all the suspense and almost unstoppable danger. It's good.

Finally (not as a part of the confusion saga), I decided to check out The Great Jahy Will Not Be Defeated! It should be good as long as I can keep myself from binging as most of the humor so far seems to revolve around Jahy being pathetic due to loss of her powers. I'm still early on so I'll see how/if things change in later chapters but I hope it won't stick to a single gag doing all the work - as fun as it is it might get old really quickly.

Song is great and I wouldn't expect anything else from the clock lady. I do have to ask though, what kind of black magic do you use that your Youtube links are scraped by Lemmy (as in title & thumbnail)? They always end up empty for me.
