You keep using that word. Maybe you should look up what it means.

Anyone know how to do this the other way around? Subscribing to lemmy communities from kbin?
edit: it seems to work the same way. you just have to search for the community in kbin first or otherwise it will show a 404.

Read the update at the bottom. Reddit doesn't seem to want to comply with the requests. I guess you could use a deletion script.

I'm not talking about the title but the actual page a post links to. Your idea to mark edited URLs is great, though.
Or always crosscheck the hyperlink in title or body with an open-source malicious site database and flag all malicious sites once and for all?
The internet is in flux. Once and for all is not possible.

I don't know how to crosspost properly. I think this is a serious design flaw. If you agree please upvote the post on lemmy.ml community for visibility

Archive.ph is very unstable. Pls, if you change links post the original link in your change comment.
1. I create a well crafted post to a normal site that gets 10.000 upvotes. 2. I change the URL to a malicious site. 3. ?????? 4. Profit

Is there a fix?
DrYes 1y ago • 100%
I hope it can get fixed in the DB or somewhere because I feel like asklemmy will be one of the bigger communities.

I also get a "subscribe pending" on /c/asklemmy@lemmy.world but all other communities seem to subscribe quickly.

Still wondering about the search not working.
If I search for a community like !embedded_prog@lemmy.ml nothing comes up. Trying to subscribe to a community on lemmy.ml results in "Subscribe Pending"
Even better if it was customizable. Also generally I'd love if most features come with an option to turn them off. For example the pop-up of new replies. I can see that getting annoying really fast on very active accounts.

I guess it might strain the servers but couldn't the instance start a search for 404 communities automatically?
https://lemmy.world/c/hardcore@lemmy.ml (It's a music style community): 404: couldnt_find_community Other communities work fine: https://lemmy.world/c/linux@lemmy.ml Do I have to enable my community to be federated or is it maybe getting blocked due to the name?
