Up until now, I have said that Harris/Biden and Trump are equally bad for Palestine, there is no harm reduction option. But ngl, I am now starting to wonder if that’s actually true anymore and Harris might actually be worse. She is able to make a statement like this - “just so you know, I REALLY love Israel, make sure everyone knows just how much I love them and what they do” - in the face of a very unambiguous genocide; and she clearly feels she needs to prove how “tough” she is. Trump might use worse language but I don’t know, I could almost see him getting squeamish at this level of horror, idk.

How the IOF is conducting itself in Gaza is reasonable approximation for how the US military conducted itself in Vietnam.

I think the quotation marks are used here to indicate sarcasm, as this is what Israel often claims when people are almost certainly killed.

A few years ago, there was a video that went viral of a Cuban gusano (in a MAGA hat no less) who pulled up a picture on her phone of her dear grandpa who the evil communists murdered. He was just a respected police officer, according to her.

Turns out, because she showed the picture of him, people were able to identify who this “dear grandpa” was. He was actually known to history. He was one of Batista’s henchmen who tortured and murdered quite a few people. As many at the time pointed out, that guy absolutely got what he deserved and executing him was cool and good.

I think this is a reasonable take.

Years ago, I really got into like, EMPs, Carrington Events, etc. Kinda surprised they don’t get talked about more. Perhaps… but if nothing else the Democrats have shown on every issue, the will only follow and not lead. They finally embraced gay marriage when the public overwhelmingly supported it. I am old enough to remember when Dems actually at least appeared to want to help immigrants. Now that they perceive the voters that they want to court (conservative whites) is against immigration they are every bit as bad as the GOP.

If the tide of public opinion were to start to move the other way on LGBTQ issues, the Dems will be right there trying to out-fascist the GOP.

I admit, when our comrade xiaohongshu has been saying this over the last year or two… well didn’t exactly doubt this per se. I just suppose I had a healthy dose of skepticism or just figured Biden (really, the Biden admin) was only a bit worse. But I was wrong. This administration’s policies have really pushed the imperialism to new, bloodthirsty heights. I don’t want to go quite as far to say that Trump is the harm reduction candidate but I at least have to think about it for a minute. I need to fill out one of those meme apology forms.

I will say though, I wonder how much of a bullet the world dodged in 2016 by not having Hillary win. She seems ever bit the ruthless imperialist but even moreso, as well as far more competent than Biden.
