After the pilot episode I was willing to watch another episode, but I was still a little on the fence about it. But when Alara realised she was in command, and the Captain and First Officer were gone, she didn't take it in her stride, and she didn't just go "okay". ::: spoiler spoiler She went and got a shot of whiskey, and then threw up. ::: It was at that point I realised that this was how Star Trek would be if the crew were real people, and not Action Figures. And it was at the point I knew I wanted to watch the rest of the first series because it was going to be good :)

Discussion of this issue on /r/theorville led to the team re-editing the episode to have the Orville arrive on Earth *four* months after Gordon. Tom probably has no idea we exist yet, but hopefully we can rebuild that community here so there's nothing for him to mourn.

Here's hoping that there'll be a season four of The Orville. It'd be a pity that the show would end without proper closure. Currently, it all seems to be rumour and nothing concrete about any upcoming season. Some of the actors say that there have been talks, so it seems that there might be some hope. I'm just putting this post up because this community is dead. I'll end this before Bortus tells me: "You shall be quiet!"
